Tengo el chromecast reseteado de fábrica y no va, ya hay alguna solución? Ya pasó una semana...
03-14-2025 02:26 PM
Booted up both of mine today, to the photo displays, and left them for several hours. Sometime during the day, both got the update, and are working again. Thanks.
03-14-2025 02:26 PM
All fixed, thanks folks! I had done a factory reset but the workaround of setting date works on two CC-Audios...
03-14-2025 02:29 PM
Is it still down. We already factory resetted it becuase we didn’t know there was an outage.

When will be resetup wrongly factory reset device?
03-14-2025 04:43 PM
Now.
Set the date in your phone back to March 1st, then set up Chromecast per normal. Then it will recover the new firmware.
03-14-2025 06:09 PM
Thank you it worked
03-14-2025 02:42 PM
Why did I buy this when it doesn't work. Said in your instructions to factory reset.now won't install.refund money if your product doesn't work
03-14-2025 04:44 PM
Using your device (e.g.: Android phone or whatever you have the Home App on), change the date to March 1st. Then add the new device to your home per normal. It will find it as a new device and it will connect to the network and internet again. Then it will get the new firmware when it rolls out.

Hi there,
My chromecast only works when paired with youtube on my phone, but it doesn't recognise other apps? Please advise what to do as I have carefully followed the standard advice from google?
03-14-2025 02:47 PM
Fantastic! Thankfully I didn't do a factory reset on my pair of Chromecast Audio dongles, but I did leave them powered up for the fix (certificate update). They were back to "normal" after I rebooted (off/on) them, so that Google Home could reconnect to them.
I was one of those that did a factory reset before we were told not to on the Chromecast V2. I managed to get it fired backup by changing the date on my phone prior to the "incident". When I read that a fix was on its way, specifically for those users who hadn't done a factory reset, I thought I would have to wait a bit longer. I was pleasantly surprised that by chance I powered up YouTube, selected Chromecast and we were back in business 🤓
03-14-2025 02:51 PM
Hello,
Do I have to update the Google Home app? Or will the fix be transparent? (I mean, do I have to do anything to get the fix?)
03-14-2025 04:45 PM
No. If it's on the net, just wait.

Thanks a lot! My chromecast audio is working again! Despite my factory reset. I have set back the date of my Iphone to 8th of march. By doing this I was able to set up chromecast again and connect it to my wifi. After some hours it worked again! So it can live happy ever after for the next 10 years... at least.

The issue has been fixed on my chromecast.I am able to cast now.
03-14-2025 02:59 PM
Johnny can fix it.. Google can't???.

Can I do something about The chromecast4087?
03-14-2025 04:46 PM
Using your device (e.g.: Android phone or whatever you have the Home App on), change the date to March 1st. Then add the new device to your home per normal. It will find it as a new device and it will connect to the network and internet again.
03-14-2025 03:02 PM
How much time will it take? For the ones who have restarted their devices
03-14-2025 08:23 PM
There is a fix offered by user johnnyzero2
Do this fix

Leave your unit power up on your local Wi-fi network. It takes time for the google server to update the device

I had done a factory reset earlier (right before I found this place telling me not to do a factory reset - facepalm) and managed to do a clean but incomplete setup, by setting the clock on my phone to a date prior to March 8th. This evening (March 14th, CET) we suddenly could connect and stream on the television again. Thanks for solving it. I hope it won't happen again.
03-14-2025 03:04 PM
Thanks google team, got my tunes back, love you - ignore all the nob heads on this thread as I’m sure you do 😘

The CC that i didn't reset is back up and running. The reset one is still showing stock pics and unreachable by Google Home app
03-14-2025 03:09 PM
Ya funciona!!!! Gracias
03-14-2025 03:18 PM
Does this mean if you did a factory reset it may work or it definitely will not work?...... The "may" in the post FROM Google implies it might work?
03-14-2025 03:30 PM
For a device which was factory reset, the solution is to change the phone date to before March, 8 and perform the setup.
03-14-2025 04:48 PM
Using your device (e.g.: Android phone or whatever you have the Home App on), change the date to March 1st. Then add the new device to your home per normal. It will find it as a new device and it will connect to the network and internet again. Then it will get the new firmware

I'm in...finally! It could work! Now seems everything has been fixed
