If you previously performed a factory reset, we’re happy to report that the Google Home app update will reach all users today.
Please make sure you’re on version 3.30.1.6 for Android and 3.30.106 for iOS to set up your Chromecast (2nd gen) and Chromecast Audio. Check out this help center article if you need help updating the Google Home app.
If you’re still experiencing problems during setup, please reach out to customer support for further assistance.

Thank you for your patience as we worked to resolve the issue with Chromecast (2nd gen) and Chromecast Audio devices. As of today, this disruption has been fixed.
If you did not perform a factory reset, your device should now function normally. If it is still not functioning as intended check the firmware version of your device by following the instructions here. If your device is not on the corresponding firmware version, please try rebooting your device to start the update process.
For users who have performed a factory reset, you will need to update your Google Home app to the latest version (3.30.1.6 for Android and 3.30.106 for iOS) to set up your Chromecast (2nd gen) or Chromecast Audio device again. The app roll out has begun and may take a few days to roll out to everyone. We’ll post a confirmation once the roll out to all users is complete.
We sincerely apologize for this disruption and any inconvenience it may have caused, and we are committed to ensuring all users are back up and running as quickly as possible.

Thank you again for your patience, we have some good news - the fix should reach all users today. If your device has received the update it should be on the following firmware versions:
Chromecast (2nd gen): Firmware version 1.56.467165
Chromecast Audio: Firmware version 1.56.467166
Check the firmware version of your device by following the instructions here. If your device is not on the corresponding firmware version, please try rebooting your device to start the update process.
Please note: If you performed a factory reset during the troubleshooting process, you may still be experiencing an issue where you cannot re-setup the device. The team is working diligently to resolve this, and we will provide next steps as soon as possible.

prova a ripristinare il Chromecast. Poi cambia manualmente la data al telefono al 10 marzo apri home aggiungi dispositivo e vedrai che aspetti e funziona di nuovo ricevi l'aggiornamento

Ciao ho provato a fare come mi hai consigliato ma il problema è lo stesso. Non funziona.
mi dice questo:

Try to update your device date to 1st March 2025 and then connect chromecast to get updated.it will be working after taking time to update.it will run as soon as you update your chromecast.i did and it's working.

Non avendo notizie dopo 3 giorni di malfunzionamento ho eseguito il reset. Resto in attesa di aggiornamenti per ripristinare le funzionalità.

Heb de datum op 8 maart terug gezet en de chromecast verwijderd op mijn mobiel de stroom van de chromecast gehaald. Router gereset. En nieuw apparaat toevoegen op mobiel en de chromecast werkte weer . Daarna datum terug gezet.

Ich habe es heute wieder installiert bekommen.
Ich habe auf meinem Android Smartphone über Datum und Uhrzeit das Datum auf 05.03.2025 gesetzt.
Also automatisches Datum und Uhrzeit deaktiviert.
Dann konnte ich mich mit dem Dongle verbinden und einrichten. Der Dongle hat sich ein Update gezogen.
Etwas Geduld bis es geupdated hat.
Dann kann die komplette Einrichtung beginnen.
Bei mir hat es geklappt.
Und dran denken, dass ihr das Datum und Uhrzeit wieder auf automatisch setzt.

Estou ha dias sem poder assistir minha tv, pois utilizo o chromecast para visualizar todos meus aplicativos de streaming, como globoplay, netflix, disney, youtube, etc… não posso sequer assistir a tv fechada, pois tendo o chrome cast , não tenho antenas instaladas!!!! Ressetei o aparelho e estou aguardando instruções para a regularização! Espero sinceramente não precisar tomar medidas juridicas!!!!!! As my chromecast stopped working, I had to buy a google streamer device and it worked for a day or two. Now the tv screen is losing the picture. I suppose it’s the same problem with the chromecast. Gee, fix this quick!
