If you previously performed a factory reset, we’re happy to report that the Google Home app update will reach all users today.
Please make sure you’re on version 3.30.1.6 for Android and 3.30.106 for iOS to set up your Chromecast (2nd gen) and Chromecast Audio. Check out this help center article if you need help updating the Google Home app.

Thank you for your patience as we worked to resolve the issue with Chromecast (2nd gen) and Chromecast Audio devices. As of today, this disruption has been fixed.
If you did not perform a factory reset, your device should now function normally. If it is still not functioning as intended check the firmware version of your device by following the instructions here. If your device is not on the corresponding firmware version, please try rebooting your device to start the update process.
For users who have performed a factory reset, you will need to update your Google Home app to the latest version (3.30.1.6 for Android and 3.30.106 for iOS) to set up your Chromecast (2nd gen) or Chromecast Audio device again. The app roll out has begun and may take a few days to roll out to everyone. We’ll post a confirmation once the roll out to all users is complete.
We sincerely apologize for this disruption and any inconvenience it may have caused, and we are committed to ensuring all users are back up and running as quickly as possible.

Thank you again for your patience, we have some good news - the fix should reach all users today. If your device has received the update it should be on the following firmware versions:
Chromecast (2nd gen): Firmware version 1.56.467165
Chromecast Audio: Firmware version 1.56.467166
Check the firmware version of your device by following the instructions here. If your device is not on the corresponding firmware version, please try rebooting your device to start the update process.
Please note: If you performed a factory reset during the troubleshooting process, you may still be experiencing an issue where you cannot re-setup the device. The team is working diligently to resolve this, and we will provide next steps as soon as possible.

Changez la date de votre appareil au 8 mars ou avant, essayez de reconnecter le Chromecast et effectuez l'installation normalement. Ensuite, il recevra la mise à jour automatiquement. Une fois terminé, remettez simplement votre téléphone à la date actuelle. J'espère que cela vous aide.

For all the people who performed a factory reset during their initial troubleshooting, this procedure will allow you to reconnect your Chromecast to your Wi-Fi network, so that it can receive the firmware update fix that Google started rolling out on 3/13.
1) Temporarily set the date on your smartphone (or tablet) to March 7, 2025 or earlier. If you don't know how to do that, see below.*
2) Use the Google Home app to re-setup your Chromecast by adding it as a new device (+). You still won't be able to cast, and the device will be grayed out in the Home app, but that's ok. Most importantly, it'll now be reconnected to your Wi-Fi network so that it can receive the firmware update fix.
3) Change your phone's date/time setting back to Auto now.
4) Sit back and wait for the firmware update from Google to be installed. This should restore your Chromecast to full functionality.
Note: Supposedly it's being done as a "phased rollout", so it could take a while for the firmware update to hit your Chromecast. Also, some have reported that power-cycling your Chromecast (unplug/re-plug the power cable) will sort of "provoke" the firmware update to be installed. Patience.
*How to change your phone's date/time settings:
For iPhone/iPad: go to Settings, General, Date & Time. Disable "Auto" and manually set the date to March 7, 2025 or earlier.
For most Android phones/tablets: Settings, General Management, Date and Time. Disable "Auto" and manually set the date to March 7, 2025 or earlier.

eu preciso do meu aparelho funcionando perfeitamente , afinal eu não paguei por um produto com data de validade , se não resolvem da maneira fácil irei tentar na vara civil , mais não vou aceitar mas um desrespeito ao consumidor , são dias sem poder ver um filme , pode até ser algo inútil pra vcs que tem o mundo aos seu pés ou quase todo o mundo pq eu não faço parte desse grupo , ou resolve o meu problema ou eu vou entrar na justiça e pedir um ressarcimento pelo prejuízo financeiro e emocional causado por vcs !!
Resolvam o meu problema !! Já não tenho mais pasciencia

2025, es tan fácil como cambiar el día al 1 de Marzo del 2025 en el telefono movil que se quiere sincronizar/configurar/agregar Chromecast a Google Home nuevamente desdey volver a sincronizar de forma estándar desde Google Home.
Una vez está establecida la conexión con el WiFi en Chromecast, automáticamente se actualiza nuevamente el certificado y ya vuelve a funcionar.

Interesting. Are you sure the Chromecast hardware even supports bluetooth? If so, that could be the solution that Google eventually (if ever) comes out with.
For those who don't feel like waiting for that, the "date" workaround works just fine.

Dije que, hace años que vengó luchando con este tipo de problemas, hackeó de cuenta , hackeó de dispositivo, y saben que respondieron, 1 cambie la contraseña, 2 si no funciona cambie la cuenta, 3 si sigue, comuníquese con su proveedor, y si aún así no funciona cambie el teléfono, pero si tampoco llega a funcionar, mudese a la Antártida seguramente ahí no va a tener problemas

Confermo a tutti che basta rimettere la data e l'ora del telefono al 1 Marzo 2025. Anche se avete fatto il reset. Riconfigurate con l'app Google home e successivamente rimettete l'ora del telefono a quella della data odierna.
