on your mobile, manually set up date to march 8, 2025 and then you'll be able to set up your chromecast device again an link it to your wifi network. Once linked, it'll automatically update firmware to the patched version. Once finished, set date to "auto" again on your mobile and that's all. Credits to @multimediatipsytrucos532 youtube channel. I tried a solution and worked for me for a device that was set to factory settings
use android phone and change the year to 2024
add the device from home app
The chromecast will perform software update during the setup
after restart it will work fine and you can set the date back to normal on the phone
03-16-2025 03:38 PM
When will the fix for those that did the factory reset be done already. This is google right? Lots of egg heads and $ seriously wtf

Set your smartphone date to 6 March. Add chromecast using Goggle Home. This will work, though Iplayer etc. Will not work for an hour, or so.

How freaking long does it take for you guys to reset or fix this problem. Also, are we going to get a credit or refund for the inconvenience of not having television for almost a month since it's going to take 10 years to do. Also appreciate you taking the time to read my message
03-16-2025 03:58 PM

Well before we know, or everyone know and you put the note, the first advice was reset the device, so what now?
03-16-2025 04:04 PM
Cordialement
Mr Roblette #
