Any news??

I now have two bricked ChromeCast - Doing the date trick on my iPhone wont make them connect. In the setup process everything goes as planed, but when coming to the Wifi setup I connect to the Wifi my phone is on, and is getting a "Connected" but then right after a "An error Occurred" message, and you can start over again.

Same here
03-10-2025 02:15 PM
Please help as we have done factory reset 😞 and trying to figure out what's happening.
03-10-2025 02:32 PM
Guys have a look at this reddit page / comment - https://www.reddit.com/r/Chromecast/s/5GPIpchu9V
03-10-2025 02:17 PM
Is it resolved?
03-10-2025 02:23 PM
Still awaiting for an agent to call back sent 7 requests over the last two days! Shocking customer service
03-10-2025 02:23 PM
Where can I see updates on this?
03-10-2025 02:24 PM
I have already reset to factory default, please tell me how can I solve the problem in this case as soon as possible, thanks.
03-10-2025 02:24 PM
Unfortunately factory reset is one of the first troubleshooting steps. This warning should have come earlier.
I factory reset then couldn't connect the chromecast back to google home. However, I changed my phones date to 8th March and it connected and is now visable in home app again. Not able to cast though.
03-10-2025 02:27 PM
Please, tell us where we will find out that the fix has been rolled out, when it has, and once there is instructions to all of us who already factory reset. Will it be a new thread here, a comment on this thread? The communication from Google has been entirely insufficient and delayed.
03-10-2025 02:28 PM
Please give a fast feedback about that issue fast as the deice completely useless
03-10-2025 02:35 PM
03-10-2025 02:39 PM
24 hours and counting. Are you totally inept?
03-10-2025 02:37 PM
Alguma solução? O meu já foi restaurado!
03-10-2025 02:39 PM
Where is this information on main stream media or even social media? People across the world have purchased these devices & many are resetting and annoyed their device isn't working yet Google puts a message through 'here'... I didn't even know this page existed. This is more about very poor customer care, by way of NOT notifying everyone, rather than customers thinking their own personal device has a direct issue. If Google was actually customer focused, this high tech company would have surely found a way to notify their millions of customers of an issue and advise it is actually on THEIR end! (As mentioned, put notices on social media & main stream media). NOW it's surely time to do this, PLUS advise the timeline it will take to fix this, or least keep updating your millions of customers on how your 'fix' is progressing
03-10-2025 02:43 PM
You are so right
03-10-2025 02:52 PM
I totally agree with you!
03-10-2025 02:40 PM
Omg i just factory reset 5 min before I noticed this. Did I just brick my Chromecast?
03-10-2025 02:50 PM
No, there is a work around thst I tried. It is decribe here in forum and it worked. You have to set the time of your device/phone to the 8 og march. This allows to install the chromecast with the home app. It won't cast yet, google has to fix that. But the chromecast is saved. Thsn you set your dste to normal again.
03-10-2025 02:48 PM
Factory reset didn't help. I'm waiting for the problem to be solved.
03-10-2025 02:49 PM
I bought a device years ago because it's so simple and reliable. And now it's not working anymore... This is frustrating.
03-10-2025 02:50 PM
Where will you provide this information, please? I've been chasing this info from Reddit to Facebook groups to Google search...
03-10-2025 02:51 PM
This is bs and you guys know it. You stopped manufacturing these, don’t see the any revenue potential so you’ve killed the product with some crap authentication maneuver. Freakin lame.
03-10-2025 02:54 PM
What should we do now , if this is indeed true?
03-10-2025 03:06 PM
I’m going to see if they roll out a fix. If not I’ll find another casting/streaming device from another brand.
03-10-2025 05:05 PM
Already went to Wal-Mart & bought a 20$ Roku (btw, they don’t even sell google chromecast anymore, so ya, obsolete!!)
03-10-2025 02:50 PM
Already reset
03-10-2025 02:56 PM
03-10-2025 02:56 PM
I don't understand why there is so poor communication. There are so many channels for communication.
03-10-2025 02:57 PM
Well came to this after following your troubleshooting advice which included factory reset..so hopefully you’ll provide a fix for those of us who have already done that too..
03-10-2025 02:57 PM
Unfortunately I've already reset it, I'll remain in wait for a solution
03-10-2025 03:02 PM
Same, it's the first thing you do, isn't it?

Bonjour.
Et vous, toujours pas de connexion ? Du nouveau ?

A bit late, what's the 1st thing you do?
Factory reset!

Figures I am doing some wifi maintenance today. Have factory reset three Audio devices because they wouldn't play nicely. Even broke out and OG android.
