Samsung TV doesn’t switch on after Chromecast TV set up

Hello, I have a Samsung Tv and I have recently bought the Chromecast 2nd gen. I was doing the set up on the TV itself when, during the update of the system for the Chromecast, the tv shut down (not even in rest mode, no red dot on the frame of he TV).

after this, I have not been able to switch my tv on again.

unplugging and plugging it makes the red dot appear again but I can’t switch it on.

could you please help me with this issue?

it seems that the update in the Chromecast did something to my TV.

thanks in advance!

Hi Cahelial,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. If you can, kindly test your Chromecast 2nd Gen on another TV just to see if the Chromecast device itself is still functional. As for the TV, non-smart TV software and programs are already intact, and any device that can be connected has read-only access. For smart TVs, they can connect to the internet and use it to update apps and firmware, but physically connected devices would still have read-only access. For a slave device like Chromecast, it’s not possible for it to influence the TV through an update intended for itself. It may just be a coincidence, but I suggest you contact a local tech to check what’s going on with your TV.

Let us know if you have other questions about your Chromecast device.

Thanks,

Kimy
