Gracias🙂

Hi MelinaPieralisi,

Thank you for posting here in the community. I'm sorry that your Chromecast remote is not connecting after the batteries got drained. But no need to worry, help is here.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can check for your Chromecast remote:

Basic Checks:

  • Remote Cleaning: Clean the remote's infrared (IR) emitter (usually a small, dark plastic window at the front) with a soft, dry cloth to remove any dust or debris that might block the signal.
  • Chromecast Reboot: Unplug the Chromecast device from the power source for a few seconds, then plug it back in. This can sometimes help refresh the connection.

Re-pairing the Remote:

  1. Open Google Home App: Locate and launch the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Select Chromecast: On the Google Home app screen, find your Chromecast device and tap on it to access its settings.
  3. Remote Pairing: Look for the option to "Pair remote" or "Remote control" within the Chromecast settings. The wording might vary slightly depending on your app version.
  4. Follow On-Screen Instructions: The Google Home app will guide you through the on-screen pairing process, which typically involves pressing specific buttons on the remote.

Advanced Troubleshooting:

  • Factory Reset (Remote - Last Resort): Some Chromecast remote models have a reset button (usually a small hole).  Note: Resetting the remote will erase any programmed shortcuts or custom settings.
  • App Update: Ensure you're using the latest version of the Google Home app on your phone or tablet. Updates often contain bug fixes and improvements that might address remote pairing issues.
