Hi all.
I have just upgraded to a 4k Chromecast, from an HD model.
I noticed slow wifi speeds on the old one, but the newer one seems to do the same thing...
I have a 50Mbs line and the max speed is between 5 and 10 on the Chromecast, but full 50 on all other devices. Which is too low for 4k streaming and steamlink gaming.
It seems to have been a problem for years now. Any solutions yet? Maybe a specific port on the router or something? I am also running at 2,4gHz. And I have done a factory reset after firmware updates...

Where is your Chromecast in relation to your router? The closer it is the better.
Where is your router placed? To improve Wifi performance it's recommended to place it out in the open, such as on top of shelf, cupboard, or table, not hidden away behind a TV or inside a closed cupboard for example.

The router is not even 1m away... The cable of the Chromecast is also like 100mm long, so unless I use an extender cable, I don't have much of a choice....

Interesting. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but it being too close to the router can also cause problems.
