I've had the Streamer for 3 days now and it's frustrating the hell out of me. Streamer is plugged into Sony STRD-790 receiver via HDMI. Output from receiver via HDMI to LG G3 tv. When watching YouTube tv, the Streamer plays audio in stereo on two channels (ABC, Weather Channel), YouTube, and the Pandora app. All other channels work fine. If I restart the streamer, it will play in 5.1 on those channels/apps but reverts back to stereo intermittently. I've fiddled with every sound setting in the Streamer and nothing helps. All settings on my receiver/tv are correct (and worked with the prior Chromecast) so I'm fairly certain it's an issue with the Streamer itslef. PS5 going through receiver works as it should. Any help is appreciated before I return this thing.

I have a similar issue but with mine I get no 5.1 on any app, only 2 channel stereo unless I watch a Dolby Atmos film...then the amp displays Atmos/PCM and only plays out the front 3 speakers and not the rears or atmos surround speakers. They really have done a rubbish job on this device...

Hi folks,
Thank you for posting here in the community. I'm sorry that your Google TV Streamer is having audio issues. But no need to worry, help is here.
Before we get started with further troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:
I understand that you have already followed basic troubleshooting and the issue is still the same.
In case it helps, you can also review this article to know How to factory reset your Chromecast or Google TV Streamer.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Streamer is connect to Sony A/V receiver. Issue occurs on ABC, several other channels and the Pandora App. It always happens unless I reset the Streamer. If I reset, it will play in 5.1 until I change the channel or App. Streamer is hooked up via ethernet. Does not happen with any other streaming devices and did no occur with prior Chromecast. I've gone through all other troubleshooting methods.
