TV Streamer Remote not recognizing Voice

DannyD1

Hey guys and girls,

I'm a happy owner of a Google TV Streamer since last week. Yesterday, all of a sudden the voice recognition of my Google Remote stopped working. When I Press and hold the microphone button, Assistant starts and the green microphone in the upper right corner appears, but it doesnt pick up my voice. Using the virtual remote from my phone works, it's only the Google Remote which doesnt pick up my voice anymore. I re-paired the remote multiple times, I factory-resetted the remote, I pulled the plug on my TV Streamer for a few minutes, nothing hast worked so far.

Does anyone have a solution to this? Or is it a Server-Side Bug?

Thanks in advance!

Hi DannyD1,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to know that your Google TV Streamer Voice Remote isn't recognizing your voice when you press and hold the microphone button. I'm happy to help you!

  • How long was the remote functional before it stopped working?
  • Are the other buttons working correctly?
  • What type of batteries did you use?
    • Are they the original batteries included in the box?

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Rusell.

Hey Rusell,

thanks for contacting me but I already resolved the issue with Google Europe. They sent me a replacement remote, since mine apparently Had been faulty. Just in case you want to know: I used it for two days and it had the original batteries (the White ones it comes with) in it. Battery Level was at 95%.

Since Assistant voice control worked when I used my Pixel as a virtual remote and pressed the button there, Google Europe came to the conclusion that my remote must be faulty.

Thanks for offering your help though!

Greetings,

Daniel
