The screen remains black even when turning on the power from the remote control.

I have been using the Chromecast with Google TV (4K) until recently, but I recently upgraded to a Google TV Streamer.
I am using a PHILIPS 328P6VUBREB/11 monitor, which is connected to the device.
Until now, I have been using this setup without any issues, and the monitor settings remain unchanged.

Under the exact same setup, I am now using the TV Streamer. While I can turn it off using the remote control’s power button, when the monitor is in sleep mode, pressing the power button on the remote to turn the TV Streamer back on leaves the screen completely black.

To be precise, it seems that the TV Streamer itself powers on, but the monitor does not receive a proper signal, leaving it in sleep mode. However, if I unplug the TV Streamer’s power cable and reboot it, the monitor exits sleep mode, and I can use it as normal.

Thinking it might be an HDMI cable issue, I replaced it with an HDMI 2.1 cable (ECDH-HD21E10BK), but the situation has not changed.

Since the Chromecast worked fine under the same conditions, I believe this is an issue with the TV Streamer. Could you please advise me on how to resolve this?

Hi @japggl!

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your monitor remains black when you turn on your Google TV Streamer. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • When you turn on your Google TV Streamer, do you get any LED light? If so, what color is it?
  • How is the streaming device receiving power? Did you use a power cable or USB port?
  • Have you tried plugging the streaming device into a different power outlet or USB port?
  • What is the resolution of the monitor (e.g. 1080p, 4K)?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Geremi
