Trouble streaming KPN TV+

JanGodefroy
Community Member

When I open the KPN +TV app om my IPhone and press the button to start streaming with my chromecast the screen says “ ready for streaming”

But when I start streaming the screen shows a partial of the program and then stops streaming.

When i try streaming on a older chromecast there are no problems.

Hello JanGodefroy,

Thank you so much for posting in this community. I’m sorry to know you’re experiencing trouble streaming the KPN TV+ app from your mobile device. Don’t worry; it’s a pleasure to be able to assist you.

I appreciate that you have taken action by performing the troubleshooting step above. To continue addressing the situation, could you please answer the following questions?

  • What model of Chromecast do you have? For your reference, check out this article: Chromecast and Google TV Streamer specifications.

  • Are you able to cast other apps?

  • What is the Chromecast model that you're able to cast?

  • How far is the Google streaming device from the router?

  • How far are you from the TV when you try to cast?

  • Is the internet connection stable?

  • Have there been any changes to the router settings?

  • Are the devices connected to the same network?

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Best regards,

Daniel

Goodmorning Daniel,

- It’s a chromecast HD with Google TV (the white version)

- The other chromecast is a old black one ( not sure wich type)

- I’m able to stream YouTube, Netflix etc. with no problems

- The distance between the router and the chromecast is 2,5 mtr. This is the same as the phone distance.
- The internetconnection is stable.

Greetings,

Jan

Hey JanGodefroy,

I appreciate you keeping me in the loop. To continue assisting you, let's explore some troubleshooting options.

  • Check if the Google streaming device firmware is updated; for your reference, consult this article: Chromecast and Google TV Streamer firmware versions and release notes

  • Check that the casting device is updated.

  • Reboot the streaming device.

    • Go to All Settings, then System.

    • Select Restart

    • Select Restart again to confirm.

  • Reboot the casting device.

  • Reboot the router, disconnect the Wi-Fi router from the socket, and leave it unplugged for 2 minutes.

Please let me know if these steps are helpful.

Best regards,

Daniel
