Turning on a device with Google Home

I'm trying to just turn on my Google Smart TV with the Google Home app, on my phone. Both devices have the same wifi connection but the app says they don't detect the connection. It lists my tv as a device on the app. I've read that I should click "Forget Wifi" for some reason but that doesn't help. How can I turn on my tv with Google Home app?

  • When did the situation start?

  • What is the make and model of your Google Smart TV?

  • Are you using an Android or iOS device?

  • Are you using only the Google Home app, or are you also using the manufacturer's app to manage the TV?

In the meantime, please try these steps:

  1. Unlink and re-link your Google Smart TV from the Google Home app. If you need to unlink a specific device, you may also need to remove it from the device maker's app.
