Unable to cast from chrome. "No devices Found" but able to cast from apps and from Canary

I have come upon a plethora of posts with similar TITLES, but no post seems to address/answer the issue.  All suggestions seem to surround restarting/reinstalling. 

I am able to successfully cast from my phone from various apps.  I also downloaded Google Canary and am able to cast from that.  However I am unable to cast from standard Chrome.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled.  I am signed into my account on Canary, which means all the same Extensions are downloaded to Chrome (I think) so it couldn't be an extension issue.  I cant imagine it would be a network or antivirus issue, because then why would I be able to cast from Canary?  However, I am inclined to think it is related to an extension or some setting in Chrome that isn't allowing it to find the Chromecast.  

 

Obviously I have workarounds but this seems like there is an answer out there. Please help!!!???

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. With the way you described it, it seems that the Chromecast device is working as intended. Have you tried casting from another computer/laptop via Chrome browser? It could be related to flags, settings, etc., and it would be best to have it checked. Give our friends at Google Chrome Help Community a shout. Let me know how it goes.
