Update needed

Hi to all, i need to know if google is planning to update the audio selection on the streamer, why is there no pass-through option on the device? I can't seem to get the sound to play like i'm used to. Pass-through is the best possible audio setting in my opinion. All the current sound options are not that good, they reduce the quality of the dialog at high intense scenes significantly. Pass-through is the best solution for audio integrity.

The device actually has passthrough, which is the Auto option that you select at one of the audio settings, the problem is, the "Dolby MS12 software stack" or "Dolby Audio processing" is turned-on by default, so you are forced to select any of the 4 options available at the other audio settings: Auto, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital and PCM stereo.

All they have to do is to allow users to turn off that "Dolby MS12 software stack" or "Dolby Audio processing" feature so we can have a Google TV Streamer exactly as the Chromecast with Google TV is.

Here's to hope they listen to users and implement a way to turn that thing off, it's really annoying and it's just something imposed to users who don't want it at all.

Thank you very much Branches78 for your reply and info. Lets hope they do listen.

Do you know what's even worse?, Dolby has practically blocked DTS in the sense that the DTS Neural X upmixer cannot be used when you use the Auto option, the option gets completely blocked on your AV receiver, furthermore, if you select the "Dolby Digital Plus" option in the Streamer's audio setting and you play a Dolby Atmos track while that upmixer is selected on your AV receiver, audio is not output and I see on my receiver some kind of conflict, I am not sure if this happens on other devices when the Auto option is selected too. 🤷‍

Looks like you got some well deserved attention. Here's to hoping for a fix soon.
