Upscaling on google tv streamer

EDBSMED

Hello.

When I connect the streamer to my 4k tv, the streamer think that all source should be upscaled to 4k,

and the result of this is poor quality for non 4k materials.

Is there any setting that automatic will detect and match source without upscale.

It´s annoying I have to make the settings manually.

Hi EDBSMED,

Thank you for reaching out to our community.

I'm sorry to hear that your Google TV Streamer 4K is changing all of your streaming sources to 4K resolution, resulting in poor quality for non-4K materials. I understand that you want to discover a setting that automatically detects and matches the resolution rather than doing it manually. Don't worry! I will gladly assist you in troubleshooting this issue.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Turn on your Google streaming device
  2.  Go to the top right of your TV screen and select the screw icon (All settings).
  3. Select the option “Display & Sound.”
  4. Select Match content frame rate: Use this setting to allow your streaming device to match the frame rate to the source content you're viewing.

In the Advanced display settings, you can select the option “Format selection” and choose whether to select HDR formats manually or let apps automatically select an available format.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Virna
