Volume control not working properly with Bluetooth speakers

I have the same problem as talked about here:

I cannot increase/decrease bluetooth volume after last googletv update with the google remote controler, but I can with the virtual remote from googleTV app  (android).
The "normal" remote control still acts as IR volume control device and not as bluetooth remote control device as it should and did before the update. I still unpaired/paired remote controler and bluetooth speaker a few times without any changes to this.

I hope U will fix this soon with an software update.

I am sorry about the late response on this, thank you for being patient! Were you able to resolve that Chromecast Voice Remote issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, since this sounds like a tricky problem. Now, just to double-check, if you go into your Chromecast with Google TV settings and change the Chromecast Voice Remote settings from HDMI-CEC to IR, does it function properly with your Bluetooth speakers?

Sorry for starting this as a new conversation, but some Moroan has closed the original thread, so I am not able repley to this and opened it again.


I disabled HDMI-CEC and restarted chromcast serveral times without any changes.
HDMI-CEC was still active before the update a few weeks ago.
Before the update everything worked fine, but now bluetooth volume control via remote control is broken.

If not, I'd be happy to help out, since it sounds like this has been quite the headache. Hello TimWetter,

It's us again. Before filling out the form, could you try to factory reset your Chromecast Voice Remote and Chromecast dongle and see if it will resolve the issue? If not, you may proceed with filling out the form.
