I have done the following:
Power cycled TV
Power cycled Chromecast
Uninstalled and reinstalled Home app (iOS)
Tried setup on an Android device
Power cycled modem and router
Factory reset router
Factory reset Chromecast
Deleted “Home” from Home app (removing all other devices)
Tried with and without bluetooth
Verified internet works
My Chromecast refuses to function properly. I get different issues from different mobile OSs. In iOS it does not swap from the Chromecast to regular wifi by itself and when changing from one to the other the app freezes and I have no option to but X out and go back to the beginning. On Android it asks what network to connect to, after selecting it it tells me that it couldn’t connect to Chromecast and gives me no other choice but to go back to beginning again.
This is terrible. I have used Chromecasts for a pretty long time and had this one setup and working previously. This particular Chromecast isn’t even a year old yet. I am not sure what other steps to take. I have done everything available to me at this point. Where am I messing this up?
