Wifi disconnect - Chromecast 1080p model

It disconnects and tries to reconnect, my network is very good. No problems on any other device. Reddit has some posts with the same issue.

also it has been so slow lately, for instance going to wifi with the remote takes 3 seconds to go there to the wifi icon. Idk why its just all of the sudden. I hope that its not trying to force me to buy a newer one

Hi @Tyson7,

Thank you so much for reaching out to this community! I understand that your Chromecast is disconnecting from Wi-Fi and that you are encountering issues when trying to reconnect. As a result, you’ve noticed that the device has been very slow and that it takes three seconds to navigate to the Wi-Fi icon. I also appreciate that you have taken the time to research similar posts on Reddit. Don't worry, I'm here to help you!

I would like to ask you a few questions so I can provide you with some new troubleshooting steps:

  • Which specific Chromecast model do you have?
  • How far is your Chromecast from your Wi-Fi router?
  • Can you connect your Chromecast to a different Wi-Fi network to see if the problem persists?
  • Is Access Point (AP) Isolation enabled?

For the moment, I would like you to perform the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Reboot your router.
  • Force close the Google Home app:
  • iOS:
    • Open Recent apps:
      • On an iOS device without a Home button: Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen and pause slightly in the middle of the screen.
      • On an iOS device with a Home button: Double-click on the Home button to show the most recently used apps.
    • Swipe left or right to find the Google Home app and on the app's preview, swipe up to close it.
  • Android:
    • Swipe up from the bottom of the screen, hold, then let go. If you're on Android Go with 3-button navigation, tap Recent apps.
    • Swipe left or right to find the Google Home app and swipe up to close the app.
  • Reboot your mobile device.
  • Use a different setup device.
  • Perform a factory reset on the streaming device.

There are multiple topics here about this issue, mostly closed now to reply. There is no solution. A new firmware came out a few weeks ago, but the problem wasnt fixed.
