YouTube TV app freezing and rendering Google TV Streamer useless until hard reset

I upgraded from the Chromecast 4K dongle to the Google TV streamer a couple of months ago. I'm having issues with the YouTube TV app randomly freezing and locking up the entire device. The remote won't do anything at all until I unplug the device from power and plug it back in, initiating a hard reset.

I spent 30 minutes on the phone with Google tech support last week. They had me factory reset the device. That didn't fix it. None of the other apps seem to be doing this... This is only a YouTube TV problem, although I'm also having stuttering on Disney plus (which I understand is a common, known issue with their app).

I really hate this is happening because I like the Google interface, and I don't want to go back to my Chromecast dongle because it reacts very slowly compared to the streamer.. But at least I didn't have this issue with it.

Anybody else having this problem? Has Google been any help in that case?
