A few days ago when I tried to access YouTube on my Google TV Streamer I was presented with the login screen but when I hit login a screen appears saying 'getting your profile ready' or something similar to that. Unfortunately after a few seconds it goes back to the login screen again. This happened time and time again so I've cleared data and cache and uninstalled and reinstalled the app on the Streamer but the problem still continues. I can use my YouTube profile without any issues on the other Chromecast devices we have and on my mobile devices but I just can't past the login process with the Streamer. I really want to go down the road of doing a factory reset as it seems to be an issue with the app and the Streamer. For some reason I was also logged out of YouTube on my Apple 4k but I was able to scan the on-screen QR code and logged straight in with no issues. Help needed here and as I've said I want to avoid a full reset for what seems to be a problem with just one app. Also from posts on Reddit and elsewhere I'm not the only person who is having this issue with YouTube and the Google Streamer.

I experience exactly same issue on Chromecast with Google TV. It has been going on for about last week. Uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing cache, data, installing older app version, removing and re-adding account - nothing helps. Just about the only thing I did not try is factory reset.

I bought a Google TV Streamer yesterday to replace my Gen 2 Chromecast thinking the newer device’s wouldnt be affected by the chromecast malfunction but it appears that this is not the case. My Google home can find the Google tv streamer by using the QR code but then it won’t connect to wifi and gives me a similar error message to what the chromecast ones did. I did find this on Google last night “A widespread malfunction affecting Chromecast and Google TV streamers is occurring due to an expired security certificate authority causing devices to fail to authenticate and stream content. Google has acknowledged the issue and is working on a fix, advising users to avoid factory resets” It’s almost been a week since everyone’s devices stopped working. Not good enough in this day and age .. the affect is being felt worldwide. I’m in Brisbane Australia.
