Hi JR27,

Thanks for reaching out and I apologize for the delayed response. Let's sort this out.

A few questions — is the Chromecast near the setup device? What type of Chromecast device do you have? Is the Google Home app updated?

Try these steps:

  1. If you are using an iOS device, please make sure the Bluetooth is also turned on.
  2. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
  3. Try to check again if access to the Local Network is turned on. To turn on the Local Network, go to the phone's Settings > Tap Privacy > Tap Local Network > Select the Google Home app.
  4. Reboot your Chromecast, mobile phone, and router.
  5. Manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: Go to your phone’s Settings > Open WiFi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again.
  6. Try a different mobile phone.
  7. Factory reset your Chromecast again.

Keep me posted.

Thanks,

Jennifer
