i have looked at all the previous suggestions.
I’ve restarted my whole Chromecast, updated my phone, updated my apps, and made sure my local network access is on, and I still receive this message:
bedroom tv may be set up, but we could not communicate with it from your iPhone. Make sure that you have enabled local network access in your privacy settings and try again.
i don’t know how else to solve this issue. My phone used to connect no problem, I’ve used it within the last few weeks to cast, and then the other day my chromecast stopped connecting. so try to reset it up and then the something went wrong message comes up. I have reset it 5 times
I have also looked at previous answers in the form followed those and it still doesn't want to connect

By reset, do you mean reset to factory defaults?
Also, try:
- make sure you have removed the old Chromecast from your Home in the Google Home app,
- then uninstall your Google Home app from your phone,
- then reinstall the Google Home app, and login,
- then reset the Chromecast to factory defaults,
- then try competing the set up of the Chromecast again.

I know this isn't the solution, but it might at least get it working....
Could you try with a different iPhone, or invite a friend with an Android phone to set it up. I think you'll need to invite them to your house in the Google Home app first (then after it's setup, assuming it works, you can remove them).

Hi there,
We appreciate you doing all those steps. Let’s further look into it. Have you tried the last suggestion thedriver has mentioned? How’s it? Also, are you using a private or shared WiFi? If private, is your router dual-band?
Thanks for your help here, thedriver.
Regards,
Alex
