chromecast keeps disconnecting to my wi-fi

Ever since I moved my TV to a different place in my living room, I frequently lose wi-fi signal and I have to go to settings and rejoin the network.  I've moved my wi-fi extender closer to the chromecast dongle but continue to have this problem.  The extender was previously right next to the dongle.  Now it's approximately eight feet away.  Not sure if that matters.  Thanks for your help.

If you are sure about WiFi extender performance, try to unplug Google Chromecast with Google TV dongle from the main power grid for about 5 minutes, then plug it back in, to allow it to unload any tasks that may hinder its performance.

What make and model is your WiFi extender?

Have you studied your WiFi extender specifications to verify its effective WiFi range?

Have you tried another WiFi extender to verify its stability?

Is your TV mounted on a stand or in a wall support?

Is your Chromecast device connected directly to the TV or via HDMI cable extension?

Alternatively, you can use an additional good quality WiFi router, connected via wired LAN port to the main router.

The Wi-fi extender is from Verizon (Actiontec)

I have not tried another extender. TV is on a stand.

Chromecast dongle is connected to the HDMI port on an old Plasma TV.  As I've stated before, the wi-fi connection was fine when the TV was placed across the room.  The extender was in very close proximity to the Chromecast then.  Now it is only about eight feet away from the extender and there is nothing blocking the extender.

I have Verizon Fios and the speed test shows very fast downloads and uploads.  All other devices (macbooks, iPhones) have no problem with wi-fi.

I am not tech savvy and greatly appreciate your suggestions.  Thanks!
