Nest video history only frozen stills

My Nest Aware video history no longer contains actual video clips — just frozen stills. What’s up??

Did your Nest Aware subscription expire? If you don't have a subscription, you only get still snapshots with 1st gen cameras and doorbells.

Yes it turns out you’re right.  

but we received one email about the upcoming renewal (one month after that), no indication that the card on file was out of date, and then nothing until an email a few days ago (which was missed) saying the subscription had been cancelled. Absolutely farcical. Any other organisation would send plenty of reminders. 

At least you got an email... 😆
