I uninstalled my Nest but did not factory reset before doing so. Can I factory reset while the device is on my hands or do I need to install it again?

Correct.It is set to keep at 77, but it does not come on until is at 80. And then it keeps the house at 80. Which is not what I want

Not sure I understand your reply.Shouldn't Nest run the AC to keep the house at 77?At 7 am, it is 77. Then at 10 am, it waits until is 80 and from there on, its always at 80. Maybe my old thermostat was more efficient keeping the house at the program...
