Update seems to have resolved my issues. Disappointed that I had to wait a week and couldn't just manually push the update through myself. Google shouldn't treat everyone like cattle.

Home App > Wi-Fi > Gear Icon in top right > Privacy Settings > Turn off both cloud service and sending device usage.
