Update: I examined the wiring in my furnace. Discovered the blue wire was disconnected. Called my HVAC guy who told me the old thermostat (battery operated) didn't require it.So I connected it and voila! Nest thermostat no longer showing an equipment...

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, there is no Display option under the Settings menu on my thermostat.
