Need to place Thermostat upstairs but boiler and heat control are too far away for a wifi connection

If the Thermostat is to be situated too far from the heatlink for the Wi-Fi to link, is it possible to join them by a wired connect?Would this allow them to communicate or does the wire just charge the Thermostat? Thank you

Yes thank you, very helpful. I will try to run a cable between the heat sync and the thermostat.
