I got my doorbell a long time ago when it was still Nest, not owned by
google, and it came with a little capacitor/varistor thingy that you
clip to the wires at the chime. But I still also have this problem from
OP, which IMO relates 100% to the cold...
I just thought of something -- my wire happens to be 4 pair phone wire,
only using the single pair for a traditional doorbell (mechanical
chime). I just thought, what if I could use another pair to deliver
constant juice at whatever specs the battery...
That setting was off for me all along (I have what I would call
mechanical chimes, ie old school physical magnets and rods that clang
