Is there any plans to carry over the video scrub search method to the
google home app? I have one location with a next cam iq outdoor that I
dont want to lose the scrubbing search feature which is probably your
situations as well?

Nest cameras seem to stop charging at cold temperatures and will start
to charge again when the temperature warms up. The doorbells are very
bad for this issue and in cold climates you must use the non battery
version. What temperatures are you seein...
You should be able to just click the home app on your phone. Make sure
you have the latest version installed. You can find it here:

When you guys had it shut down because of cold would it still work as a
doorbell and send a push notification to the phone or google home? Just
not send an image?
