They just might have discontinued Gen2 Chromecast and CCA. The only
question now is, if the amount of complaints surprises them or whether
this is what they expected. They should know the amount of people
streaming on those OG devices, I'm afraid. A ...
I doubt it's a firmware issue. If that were the case, chromecast audios
would not be affected. They haven't had updates for years. A certificate
issue is more likely.
I think they know that by now. To me it seems as if a certificate has
run out. The question is whether they feel like renewing it for our
ancient devices.
