ADT Pulse app won’t link with google home

Mpurkins2

I can not link my ADT smart home app with the google home app.  When I go to link it it just takes me to the ADT app and that’s it. I have followed the instructions on the website and it has merged my nest aware but that’s it.

Hey folks,

We're sorry for the trouble this may have caused you — let see what's going on.

Can you control your ADT devices on its native app? Make sure you enabled the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on Control accounts. Also, make sure your apps are updated. Try these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. At the top left, tap Add > Set up device > Works with Google. Under Add new, scroll down and select ADT SmartHome.
  3. Enter the Pulse or Control username and password, then check ADT United States as the server. Tap Login.
    1. If 2FA is set up on the ADT account, a verification code is sent to the device or email address on file.
    2. If 2FA is not set up, advise the customer to enable 2FA in the Control app or portal, then repeat the linking process, go back to step 2.
  4. If applicable, enter the verification code, then tap Submit Code.
  5. Place a check mark on Data about my ADT devices may be shared with Google..., then tap Next.
If the customer wants to be able to disarm their system and unlock doors with their voice, tap Yes. If not, and they just want to allow the standard features, tap No.
  6. If the optional security features were selected, the customer is asked to enter a 4-digit PIN code twice, then tap Next.
  7. The ADT Pulse or Command system is now linked to the Google Home app. At the top left, tap X to continue.
  8. To add the system devices to the appropriate rooms, tap the Security Panel to begin, then tap Next.
  9. Tap the home where the system is located.
  10. Tap the specific room where the device is located, then tap Next. If the room is not listed, scroll down to the Create New section and select the room from the list. If the desired room name is not listed, tap Create New and enter the customer’s own description of the room.
  11. Repeat steps 9 to 11 for each device. Select the device, home, and the room.

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Alex

Alex, that does not help. I am able to access the account through the app. As the other customer described, when you click on ADT through the Google Home app it just stalls when it opens the ADT Pulse app.

Hey folks,

Thanks for giving us a heads up. If none of those steps work — you can also give these steps a try:

  1. Make sure the mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the Google Home or Google Nest device.
  2. Open the Google Home app .
  3. At the top right, tap the account icon.
  4. Verify the Google Account on screen is the one linked to the speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap the down arrow icon > choose another account or Add another account .
  5. Verify if the home automation account shows up under Home Control within Google Assistant settings.
From within the Google Home app go to:
    • Account > Assistant settings > Home Control
    • Do you see the home automation account listed under the Linked Services?
      • Yes, move on to the next step
      • No, force close the Google Home application and try again.
  6. Can the device be discovered and controlled within a home automation partner app?
If No, there could be an issue with home automation set up. Contact home automation partner support for help.
  7. Synchronize all devices.
Note: Use the command: "Okay Google, sync my devices."
  8. Go back to the Google Home app to unlink and relink home automation account.

Make sure the mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the Google Home or Google Nest device. Open the Google Home app .

  • At the top right corner of the screen, tap the account icon.
  • Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to the Google Home or Google Nest device.
  • To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account .
  • Then tap Assistant Settings > Home Control. Under Linked services at the top, tap the service partner that is having issues, Unlink account > Unlink.

Make sure the mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the Google Home or Google Nest device.

  • Open the Google Home app .
  • At the top right of the screen, tap the account icon.
  • Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to the Google Home or Google Nest device.
  • To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account.
  • Then tap Assistant Settings > Home Control.
  • Tap Search (magnifying glass)

Let us know how it goes.

I appreciate the help here, Aleja.

Thanks,

JT
