Assistant settings have moved to settings and news options have disappeared

I installed my new Google Nest hub yesterday and used the Assistant Settings choice from the Profile menu to add news sources. But today the app tells me that Assistant Settings have moved to the Settings menu at the bottom of the screen, That’s ok, but there Are no longer any options to add or remove news sources, I can only manage video (Netflix etc.), Podcasts and list, but no News. Does anyone know where that option has disappeared to?

Hello Axlm,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

Sorry to hear that you're having issues accessing and changing news sources on the Google Home app due to the recent update. Visit this link or follow the steps below to customize news preferences:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. At the top-right, tap the account icon. Verify the Google Account on screen is the one linked to the speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap the down arrow icon and then choose another account or Add another account.
  3. Tap to close the Account window.
  4. Tap Settings > Google Assistant > News.
  5. Add or remove news sources.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Muddi
