Can't Migrate existing Nest account to Google Home says "account already exists" but it's an empty

My Nest App has a Nest Thermostat and several Nest protects I recently added to it after not using it for a long time.

I now also have a Google Home app with several things on it including Google Mesh.

However, when I try to migrate my Nest App account using the "Migrate to Google Account" it say "Google Account is already linked with another Nest account". Which I may have created accidentally at some point during the setup. It's empty though.

Is there any way to de-link the empty account and move over the Nest account that already has everything set up on it?

I’m having the same problem. So frustrating and it seems to be impossible to find help.

Hi folks,

I'm sorry for the delay. It is not possible to unlink a Google Account and Nest Account that have already been linked to each other. Fore more info and detailed steps, check this article on FAQs about accounts for the Nest app.

Regards,

Steve
