Hello there,

I know it has been a while, but I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

Thanks for the assistance here, Jake.

@HvToor, removing the Home structure would only work in the Google Home app. Please make sure to sign in with the same email address associated with your thermostat or the Nest app. Once logged in, go to the home structure that you would like to be removed, then tap Settings > Leave this home.

Please let me know if that helps.

Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your advice. I am logged in with the same account in the Google Home app but the home structure that I want to delete is not visible so I can not remove it. It only shows up in the Nest app.

Hi HvToor,

Got it. Thanks for the update. To be sure, could you share a screenshot of the structures available in both the Google Home app and the Nest app?

Best,
Mark

What is the best way to share these screenshots?

Hello there HvToor,

I'm sorry for the late response. How's it going? Have you managed to remove the unwanted home structure? You can delete a home from the Google Home app if you’re the only home member.

Install the Google Home app in the App Store and sign in with the same email address you used with your thermostat or in the Nest app. Once installed, you can follow the next steps here in this article.

Let us know if you need more help.

Regard,

Mark

The problem still exists. The second home is not there in the Google Home app and only exists in the Nest app where I cannot delete it.

Hello HvToor,

Great troubleshooting so far. I'm sorry for the trouble this may have caused you. I understand that this can be confusing, as you may need to use a different app to resolve it. Please make sure that you are signed in with the same email address associated with your thermostat in the Nest app. You can also share with us a screenshot of the Google Home app to ensure that you're on the right page.

Best regards,

Mark

I am signed in with the same e-mailaddress. As you can see in the image I have no thermostat connected with the testhome only with Kerkplein 9.

Hi HvToor,

Thanks for the effort, but it appears that the screenshot is the Nest app's homepage. To help you better understand the Google Home app, please check out this article about how the Google Home app works. There's also a link included to where you can install it.

Once installed, choose the same email address you've been using with the Nest app and continue the prompt until the app itself asks you which home you would choose. Select the one you would want removed and skip the part where it asked you to add a new product. You will be redirected to its homepage; go to Settings > Remove this home as your final step.

You can share the screenshot with me so I can walk you through it if you're having trouble from here.

Keep me in the loop.

Best,
Mark

Hi there,

I don't want to be a nudge, but I'd like to check if you were able to get the home structure removed from the Google Home app. Feel free to reach back if you still need help.

Best regards,

Mark

Hi, no problem it does not feel so. 🙂

The thing is when I reinstall the Google Home app I can only choose te right home and not the home that I want to be deleted. What am I doing wrong.

Hey there, HvToor,

Interesting. Can you verify that you are logged in with the same email address as with the Nest app? If both are in the same account, follow these steps to view the available home structures:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap Favorites, then tap the name of the current home.
  3. Select a new home from the drop-down menu. If the drop-down icon doesn’t appear, it means you only have one home in the Home app.

You can also share with me a screenshot of it. Keep me posted.

Regards,

Mark

I tried your solution but the thing is there is only one Home in the Google Home app. Could it be that because I have no product connected to the wrong home in the Nest app that the wrong would not be visible in the Google Home app?

Hey HvToor,

I appreciate you keeping me in the loop. Could you tell me what type of Google Nest devices you have? Are they all visible in the other home structure?

Thanks,

Mark

I only have the Nest Thermostat and it is visible in the other home structure.
