Cannot log into nest app on Apple TV

Hello,

I am frustrated. Have a nest thermostat. Also have an iPhone and an Apple TV. When I try to log into the nest app on Apple TV it asks for my username (my email) and password (no idea what it is). So I figured I’ll reset my password on my iPhone and then I can log into the Apple TV app. Simple enough right? Wrong! Password reset doesn’t work. I never receive the password reset email. Apparently I have “migrated” to google!?! Now I cannot reset my password and get the full functionality of the device I paid for…any advice?

Sorry to hear about your experience and I understand how you feel. 

I'm afraid that when using migrated accounts, you will no longer be able to use the Nest app on Apple TV or on Android TV. Take a look at this link to know more about the migration process: https://bit.ly/3HwF0Km

Unfortunately this is another once great feature that has been killed with no intent on fixing or replacing.

Booo nest used to be so great. There are other companies offering far better eco systems for a thermostats that links to Wi-Fi. Please nest go for a better customer experience. Will no longer be recommending and will leave the unit in my house when I sell it so I can buy a better product for my next house.

Nest removed that functionality a few years ago now, I complained then too. So Google/Nest is not listening. The fact that the new cameras can not use the Nest app speaks volumes to this point.

I will no longer be building out my system with google support and probably over time replace everything. 

Very sad because I wanted to buy a bunch of smoke detectors.

The google home app is not the solution that google thinks it is.

And to add salt to the wound Apple TV just updated. Advertising you can watch tv and have picture in picture of your home monitoring so you can see you front door and watch tv simultaneously…..guys come on!!! 

so I start to think..does nest have the technical capability to implement this…yes they do. Do they have the financial ability to implement this…yes they do. 
do they have the desire…. That’s a clear no… 😞
