Continuously Getting Logged Out

Has anyone been made aware of a fix for the issue users are having where they repeatedly get logged out of the Nest app when trying to view their cameras? I’ve seen several posts/forums over the last few years over this same problem but I have not found anyone that was given a solution. I already migrated my account, and this issue occurred both before and after migration. I called Google support and was told the “Nest Camera support team was unavailable today” and I’m supposed to get a call back... whenever that may be. I’m very close to cancelling my subscription and Ring is about to get a new customer.

We've been Google Nest customers for 5 years now. We migrated from a Nest Account to a Google Account in 2020. Occasionally, we have to log back into the Google Nest app when first logging in (and even less often when first logging into the Google Home app), but I don't recall getting logged out of the Google Nest app or Google Home app while trying to view our cameras.

You could make sure you have the latest version of the Google Nest app. Other than that, I think this might possibly be something that could be affected by one's Wi-Fi connection.

Maybe you can get an answer from the Google Nest support team tomorrow or later.

This post claims it can be related to the focus option on the iPhone: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Aware/Nest-app-constant-log-out-in-iOs15/m-p/51789

@MplsCustomer I appreciate the input. I have updated iOS and also made sure the Nest App is up to date.

Additionally, I believe I’ve definitely ruled out the possibility of it being the WiFi connection. The cameras themselves aren’t losing connection, they’re online the entire time, it’s specifically that I have to repeatedly log in to the Nest App when trying to view the camera footage. Even so, I’ve gotten a new WiFi router and the signal is strong throughout the house. I just don’t think getting force logged out of the app would have anything to do with the WiFi anyways. I suspect it has something to do with my wife and I both trying to view the cameras at the same time, because it seems to happen more often when a notification or alert comes through, which presumably means we’d both try to click on the notifications on our separate devices to view it. This is pure speculation though. Do you know if it’s possible to have two separate emails associated with a Nest account so we can both view the cameras without sharing a log in? Also, I will try to adjust the focus settings like that post you linked suggests. Thanks.

Ah, you're both using the same account; that's why! Yes, you can have separate accounts; we've done it for years.

If you have NOT migrated your Nest Account to a Google Account and are using ONLY the Google Nest app, then you invite the other person to join your household or "family". We migrated in 2020, so I don't remember the specifics, but see this Help topic:

If you HAVE migrated, you have to do this in the Google Home app (and it then applies to the Google Nest app as well), and you both need gmail accounts; there's this Help topic:

Everyone in the "household" or "family" has full access.
