Doorbell no longer chimes on my phone

I've had my door bell for 4 years and it's largely OK.  Since upgrading my phone, the door bell does not chime on my phone, I only receive a basic alert... it used to chime. How do I make the phone chime when somebody presses the doorbell?

We've had at least one Google Nest Hello Doorbell for over 4 years, and there had never been the ability to "chime" on our iPhones. We only get basic notifications.

No, this still doesn't work. Specifically, before update to Android 13, the door bell ring notification used to occur on the phone and was specific to the Next alert. It was definite "Ding Dong", it now occurs as a generic notification. I want what i used to have,

I think, on an Android phone, you can configure the sound you want for each app's notification, but that's something you'd have to do in your phone's settings, not in the Google Nest app or Google Home app. On iOS on iPhones and iPads, we have no options to configure notification sounds for Google Nest notifications.

My issue here is that the Notification was on the App and was chime unique to the app, and not selectable using the phone UI.  I just want what I used to have before upgrade 😞 I CAN add a notification sound specific to next but it isn't the chime as is used to be,  What change Nest?

The notification sound you receive from the Google Home or Nest app is configured in Android phone settings, not in the individual app.

Follow this guide on how to Control notifications on Android.
