Google TV will not connect to google mini for on and off

Living Room TV shows in Google Home but will not connect to voice commands.

Hi billisnice, 

Thanks for posting here in the Community. 

Please rename your Google TV in the Google Home app. Here are the steps: open app > Tap the TV icon > Choose Settings > Select Name to edit > Save. Once done, ask your Google Nest Mini, "Hey Google, sync my devices."

It turns off voice but not on. Is there a tv setting that needs to change? thanks

To confirm, have you tried the steps shared by ? Does the same thing happen when you use the Assistant app on your phone? What happen when you say, "Hey Google, open Netflix on <name of TV>"?

Still can not get it to work. We are about ready to trash and get a ROKU tv. It set up without a hitch.
