Google home does not have wifi icon

My google home app does not show the wifi icon. This is infuriating because google got rid of the google wifi app. I loved that app, this is horrible. I have read nothing on the forums that has helped!! I need help ASAP.

A  few questions: what country are you located in? Have you had the chance to follow the steps on the link provided by MplsCustomer? Uninstalling and reinstalling your Google Home app might work too.
