There are instructions every where on how do this, but there is no "Edit" button on the routine list. This is absurd, since there are like 8 default routines that I don't want at all.
11-12-2022 12:55 PM
So are these directions just wrong?
11-12-2022 01:02 PM
Yes! These are "personal" routines which are not on home or away, and there is no edit button anywhere on the personal list...

We don't use routines, but this Help page says that at the top of the Routines screen, when you select a Routine, a trash can (Delete) icon should show at the top of the screen:
11-12-2022 01:13 PM
There is no trash can. That page is incorrect
11-12-2022 01:24 PM
I wonder if the "Delete" function is simply missing. There are no posted answers when this question has been posed previously, just suggestions to re-install the Google Home app.

They are definitely not there on iOS.

Same!!!! Its maddening. There is no trash can no edit button there are like 8 default “personal” routines and i cant do anything with them. So freakin annoying

Hi folks,
@MplsCustomer, thanks for the response.
@jeff16 and @Dude35, thanks for posting. This is not the experience that we wanted you to have, let me help you out. Have you tried the step provided by MplsCustomer? If that did not fix the issue, try to use another phone to further isolate the issue.
Looking forward to your responses.
Thanks,
Juni

I did try another device - an android device and no delete icon. Also, you can just try this???? Do you have a delete icon? I mean, I appreciate you trying to help, but this isn't a "user thing" - there's no **bleep** icon to delete. It doesn't need investigation. Jesus.

I mean, just in general, the complete and total jankiness of this app and devices is INSANE. It's not just bad, it's SHAMEFUL. Google should be ashamed. Look at the reddit forum - it's thousand of people with comical, stupid, idiotic bugs that have been there for 3 years! I don't even know why you people are here trying to help a multibillion dollar company that doesn't support it's own products that seem like they were made by interns.
IT'S SHAMEFUL

Hi jeff16,
Thanks for trying that step. I'm sorry if you feel that way. To confirm, are we deleting personal routines, custom routines or household routines? An important note as well that there are ready-made routines and you can't delete these routines. Check the information below.
Ready-made routines:
Looking forward to your response.

OK, my first comment would be, why can't you delete the built in ones? That's insane. Especially since when I run the "bedtime" one, something is janked, and it says, "I don't understand 'Goodnight'", but whatever.
My second comment would be, "no the delete icon is not there for other routines," which you can trivially check by clicking on any of your routines and checking.
And my third comment is, "why are you bothering to help Google here?" They don't care - why do you?

Hi jeff16,
Thanks for the response and feedback. Could you send us a screenshot of those custom routines that doesn’t have a delete option? Below are the steps on how to upload a photo.
Also, you can tap the "Drag and Drop" option. Maximum attachment is 5 MB.
Thanks,
Juni
