How to remove my ex as owner of nest account?

Fpont

I recently installed a nest door lock and discovered that my ex is the owner. I have read suggestions on factory resets and tried but no success. I went into the home app and created a new home but still no success. She keeps appearing as the owner. There is one device (kitchen display) that I am unable to remove because I don’t have access to manage the device. Any suggestions?

Hi there,

I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I understand how frustrating your situation must be, and I would love to help however I can. Here is an article that goes over how to edit access on the account.

Best Regards,
Brad

This article assumes you are the owner and does not address the issue of changing ownership

Try this article then. If that doesn't work, remove all of those off the account and create a new home.

Hi Brad,

This article tells me how to change my email address and that would be very inconvenient  for me to do. I was hoping there was a more reasonable solution.

I'm afraid that you have to be the account holder to make these changes. If you are not the account holder, you will need them to switch it themselves, making you the account holder. I am not quite sure if that would be the best solution for you, but there is no other way around this besides creating your own home, and purchasing your own products to add to it.

Best regards,

Brad
