Hi folks,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.
This is not the experience that we wanted you to have, let me help you out. A few things: was this working before you switch to public preview? Are you able to stream the camera through the Nest Hub Max? What steps have you taken so far?
You both can check and ensure the privacy switch on the back of the device is not switched on. If that is confirmed, do a sequential reboot. First, unplug your Nest speakers/ displays and Chromecast for 30 seconds, then do the same thing to your Wi-Fi router to refresh both devices and your Wi-Fi signal.
Looking forward to your responses.
Regards,
Juni

The video stream for the Nest Hub Max shows in the legacy Nest app for iOS, and also shows if you tap deep enough into the Google Home app (device name > View Nest Cam). The issue is that in the new public preview of the Home app, the video stream doesn’t show as a video thumbnail if it’s added to the Favorites tab, unlike other streams like the Nest Doorbell.

HI all,
Chiming in — thanks for clarifying. Have you tried on a different mobile device if the thumbnail is also unavailable on another iOS device or Android? Try removing it to favorites and then re-add it. Also, make sure that the mic button on the Nest Hub Max is turned on.
Keep me posted.
Best,
Nikki

Hi chimerical,
Thanks for trying. I checked this with our team and they informed us that thumbnails for Nest Hub Max devices aren't available. Only stand alone and connected cameras will have a thumbnail on the Google Home app. We appreciate users who are keen on sharing with us their thoughts/experience — we'll take this as feedback. You can send your feedback using this link. Feel free to open a new thread if you have other questions or concerns as we'll be locking this after 24 hours.
Best,

Thanks Nikki, we figured this was the case and thanks for passing along the feedback to the team. Since this is something the Nest app supports, we're hoping that the Google Home app will eventually support this, too.

Hi chimerical,
You're welcome. We're also hoping for these possibilities to be available in the future. Stay tuned on our social media channels.
Since this has been addressed, we will be locking the thread now.
Best,
Nikki
