Nest Thermostat & Google Home App

I’m having trouble adding nest thermostat to my Google Home App.  It gets all the way to the end of setup, after connecting to WiFi & then gives me the ‘Something went wrong’ error.  What else do I need to do?

Hello SunFunPanda,

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat finishing its setup. Let's sort this out.

Please give these steps a try:

  1. Restart your phone.
  2. Turn on the Bluetooth and ensure that there are no Bluetooth devices connected to it.
  3. Pull the thermostat display from its base.
  4. Remove the batteries for at least 2 minutes to refresh them before plugging them back in.
  5. Open the Google Home app to see if the thermostat is visible and working.
    1. If not, remove the thermostat icon in the app if there is one.
  6. Go to the thermostat's Network settings and Account settings.
    1. Disconnect all linked connections.
  7. Once done, proceed with adding the thermostat to the Google Home app.

Keep us posted if this works.

Regards,
Mark

Thanks for the detailed response.

It ended up being an issue with my router settings.  Many hours later…it seems to be working fine now.

THANKS!
