Nest app not showing thermostats in Google Home App

Trying to add a temp sensor. On the Google Home App it tells me to use the Nest App. The Nest App doesn't show the three thermostats that are on my Google Home App. I can't add the sensor without the thermostats on the app. I have tried to resync the accounts with no success. How can I add my sensor or get my thermostats to show up in the nest app?

What model of thermostats do you have? The Nest Temperature Sensor is only compatible with the Google Nest Thermostat E and Google Nest Learning Thermostat. You'll need to use the Nest app to connect your sensor to your thermostat and change its settings.

Third Gen Nest thermostat.

You are not understanding the problem. When I try to connect thermostat to Nest app it says to use Google Home app. The google home app works for my thermostats. I can control them fine in that app. When I go to add the sensor in Google Home it says to use the Nest App. When I use the Nest app to add sensor it says you need a thermostat on the account.

The thermostats are not showing on the Nest App. I can not add them because it tells me to use the Google Home app to add them.

Hi David,

kind of related issue. I have the Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd Gen). This is the grey one with blue spirit level bar at the top.

I’m using the nest app. The nest sensors are only picking up one of my five thermostats. I’ve tried to reset the thermostat I want to connect the sensor to but it’s still not showing up? What do you suggest?

thanks

That suggests you have the newest Nest Thermostat (2020), which only works with the Google Home app, and is not compatible with the temperature sensor. To be totally sure, here's how you can identify which model you have:

Yes the thermostat was purchased in 2021 and is the new google version. The Google nest temp sensor back would be incompatible? Also purchased 2021 and that says it works with the google nest?

I think the issue is the thermostats not reading on the nest app and that is more of the direction I'm looking for on this post

The model of thermostat you have will not show up in the Nest app. It is the first thermostat model designed only for the Google Home app. Thus, it not being in the Nest app is working as intended.

Nest Temperature Sensor requires a Nest Thermostat E or Nest Learning Thermostat. It is not compatible with the model of thermostat you have, Nest Thermostat (2020), I'm afraid.
