Nest app won't login on iphone

My nest app was migrated to google quite some time ago but just this week the app won't recognize my login and continues to cycle through the "login with google" process back to the "login with google" screen. I have 5 cameras, 2 thermostats, and a lock which is over $1,500 US I can't control while traveling. I've done all of the following:

1. Logged in on browsers on various devices including the phone - all work
2. Attempted wifi vs cell connection login with the app - neither works
3. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app - doesn't work
4. Turned phone on and off - doesn't work
5. Removed nest access on my google account and reinstated - doesn't work
6. Searched threads for similar problems - there are many threads but they all get shut down / locked before google answers the question. Please assume I'm having the same challenge and answer the question before locking the thread.
