I have powered up my Google Nest Hello Doorbell and want to connect it to my Google Home Display but when i go to add device that "works with Google" Nest is not there, nor is Hello, or Google?  Why is it not in my list of things i can connect?  Location Australia.

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I am terribly sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time with this! I would love to look into this issue further and help find a solution for you. I have some questions I’d like to ask you first:

  • Do you still need help with this issue?

  • What troubleshooting steps have you done thus far?

  • Have you tried to restart your device if you haven’t already?

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Hi Brad

I can see the doorbell when i open my google home, but to add it as known device so i can have it appear on my JBL link view display is not possible.  When i go into known devices, it doesnt have "nest" "google" or "hello" as an option that it knows how to run.

I have confirmed (I think) that i am signed into my google home account and the nest account with the same gmail account... wouldnt mind actually confirming that.

Anyway i just want to be able to answer my door on my google home display.. the JBL link view.  any advice help you can offer would be appreciated.

cheers

Hello again,

Thank you for explaining the situation a bit better. It will help us find a solution to this problem. It is hard to say with other third-party products, what the issue is. As it could be the doorbell, or the connection, or the other device itself. Adjust the settings, and try your best to make sure that the Doorbell is in range of your JBL device. It is possible that your device is not compatible with the Nest Hello Doorbell.

Best Regards,

Brad.

It’s because they scammed us all and they have put out a terrible and inferior product. It’s bad.

Basically they are removing products from the superior Nest app to the terrible Google Home app. Once consumers buy these they will return them as they have to use TWO apps. It sucks.
