Not receiving password reset email from nest

Not receiving password reset email from nest

Checked spam filter not hitting spam filter.

Added accounts.nest.com and nest.com to the whitelist on the spam filter.

Still no email.

Please provide some next steps.

Call [REDACTED].  They helped me reset my password.

Same problem.  Just wasted 2 hours of my time. Spoke to Customer Support agent who told me they have no way of finding my account without my email WHICH IS BS!  They know where I live. The thermostat has been running for more than a year and I have been using the app all that time without an issue.   It is a total joke that they can’t help me log in to my own account or generate a password reset.

Any luck on this? Mid December and problem still exists. Very frustrating to say the least 

I am not with Google - if I were, I would bitch and hound Google management about their blatant LACK of customer service!!! - but I will tell you what I did to get this thing to “effing” finally work - either migrate your Nest account to your Google Home account (have to set up a Google account for this I believe if you don’t have one), or simply download Google Home app and re-scan your devices. THEN, and only then have I been able to get the app to recognize my devices and talk to my phone. This complete lack of customer service, not to mention a phone number to call to talk to a real person, is the reason why I’m considering replacing ALL my Nest cams and going for another company. Google is a multi-billion dollar company and they refuse to supply customer service for products they want to make money on. Absolutely - RIDICULOUS! And…frustrating as all get out! Will NOT recommend Google devices to anyone EVER AGAIN!

Not receiving email to change password for Nest app Android. I can sign in using Google Sign in. Migrating Home and Nest is jacked. Have 2 Google email accounts. Nowhere in Nest app does it allow email change which is ridiculous.

Thank you and no I'm still not receiving a change password from Nest. I can sign into Nest via the Google sign in, but I WANT TO CHANGE MY PASSWORD...lol. I have a password management app. I tried my previous password and didn't work either. I haven't made time to call in, so if you can help I'm all ears.

I cannot login with the gmail account info. Can I just reset the whole thing? Start from beginning?  

Nest needs to get their **bleep** together.  DO NOT MIGRATE to Google if you are reading these. BUY RING.  

yes, i have tried everything you suggested. it is clearly an issue with Google / Nest, why has this not been fixed for months? 

This is the WORST Customer Service EVER, so ridiculous. 

I was able to speak with someone who talked me through it.  She was looking at my account on her end, and she was able to send me an email on my gmail account to successfully change my password.  It took a while, and I don't think I would have been able to do it without talking to here.  Have you been able to speak with anyone?

I can't seem to reset my Nest Thermostat password. Nest DOES NOT send an email to reset password. Checked SPAM folder, nothing.

I did this too, but it’s creating another profile within my account (if that makes sense) 

also, will not allow me to migrate with Google Home Hub. 

I try to, but I get the message saying invalid password. Entered my gmail address & password, does not work.

Me too.  I don't want everything connected to everything, and I just wanted to RECONNECT to my email account.  But, as you said, the path of least resistance.  I needed to have access to my thermostat...

Followed all 4 steps, so please don’t repeat your canned response to my issue about no email with password reset. 

Fix the problem or Nest is about to lose a customer - as well as receiving informative reviews on all websites warning others of this major issue and Nests lack of response.

Another canned reply - nest is definitely not consumer friendly. 

next time — I’ll go with Ring on our 2nd home.

I have done that then I tried again.  Still no email.  Tried to paste a screenshot of that so you could see that I did that.  Apparently, I don't have permission to upload images.  This is extremely frustrating.  Just stopped working for no reason.  Still works on my ipad, but I can't get in to nest on my phone or my computer.

I cannot get the reset password to my Hotmail account, tried setting a new gmail account but won’t connect as the doorbell is registered to the Hotmail account that I cannot access as I forgot the password

Why Nest doesn't tell you this and continues to harp on the ...its in your spam filter is annoying. Mine also would not send password reset, so I went to thermostat, hit settings, rest thermostat, and reinstalled it. Fixed it in under 3 minutes

I give up NEST is crap. Have tried and tried to get into my account. I've been a Nest user since the start with the camera's, since Google got involved it has gone to crap. Then some how they made two subscriptions on my account and I didn't catch this till this week. So I've been paying double for crap. Tried to cancel one annual account my original account which is paid annual and it wouldn't let me. Said I had to cancel it one day before renewal. This is the account that I can't get into.

I have a  gmail account that I used as my Nest login.  I tried the Forgot Password link but it's not sending me emails.  I also checked the Spam folder - nothing there from Nest or Google.

 

Please help.

Having exact same issue.  Seems to only work when linking to my gmail account but not as a separate Nest account, while I actually do not wish to link them …

I don't seem to be getting reset password email, I have set up a new email and got a new account as the electrician installed two thermostats. I can not add my cameras to my new account as its saying i have them on my old account.

I have checked my email account and spam, no email
