Public Preview for Google Home app

Is this EVER going to be made available (sign up for preview 'in a few weeks') or is it the usual Google vaporware?

It is my understanding that the public preview program for the home app will become available after the introduction to the new updated home app to the full market. The public preview will not be available for the first version - only subsequent releases. The new home app Web interface is already rolling out publicly as of Oct 25

Edit:

Anish Kattukaran, Group Product Manager, said that the app is rolling out to public preview member first. Still no official date, but it's going to be soon

And where would one find this ?

Hi everyone,

The Home app for the web is starting to roll out now. It will go out to users in phases, starting slow and then going out to more users over time. You should be seeing it made available to you over the coming weeks, but some of you might see it a bit earlier than others. Once you get some hands on time with it, we'd love to hear what you think. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Jeff

"It will go out to users in phases"

How is users defined here? As I understand it, home.google.com is currently just a webpage for details and information about the Google Home app. There's no account or login option for this site. So how would one become a user? Is there a way to sign up for early access?

Sorry Jeff but I don't know anyone who has received this update *(and I know everybody). Nobody knows anything about it and the sign up still says the same old 'sign up for preview 'in a few weeks. It's Vaporware.

Hey Maxstacks35,

The phased rollout just barely started this week. I don't have the full rollout schedule, but I know it was initially going to 1% of users in that first week and ramping up over time. It's coming soon to everyone. As you can see, the help article on the Home app and Nest app for the web can still be found here: https://goo.gle/3DJEnhJ. If you have any more questions while waiting on the rollout, let me know.

Thanks,
Jeff

Another week passes by with no update. Why am I not surprised.

As I said 'is this EVER going to be made available'

For what it's worth, I actually do now have access to my Google Nest doorbell (wired 2nd Gen) via the web at home.google.com. Still waiting to find out how to sign up for Public Preview of the Google Home App though.

Hi all,

It looks like we've slowed down a bit and we have the relevant info in here about the upcoming Home app for the web, but I wanted to check in and see if there were any additional questions. If so, just let me know.

Thanks,
Jeff

To Jeff

Google says 'Look for the “Save 30% when you upgrade from Nest Wifi to Nest Wifi Pro” card in the Google Home app’s Feed tab,

I looked in my Home App but I can't find a 'FEED' tab.

Where can I find the FEED tab in Google Home App

Hi everyone,

Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let me know.

Thanks,
Jeff
